We are excited to announce a new collaboration between PVS and NETGEAR a manufacturer of networking solutions. The landscape for audio-over-IP applications is rapidly expanding, with network and audio products increasingly going hand in hand. NETGEAR, as a manufacturer of switches, works closely with the audio-visual market and has therefore created a special series of switches for AV applications.
M4250 AV network switches
Designed with input from industry professionals, these professional switches are designed for 1G AV over IP. Enjoy rear ports for perfect integration into AV racks, and pre-configuration for ready-to-go functionality.
User interface focussed on AV usage
The NETGEAR AV switches offer the full functionality of top-of-the-line switches, something that is not always necessary in our industry. For that reason, you can login to the NETGEAR AV switches in two ways, a main GUI and an AV User Interface. The latter is specifically designed to configure a network switch quickly and easily for use with AV protocols such as Dante, AVB, or AES67.
Presets
Different protocols for audio and video over IP have different requirements. Whereas one protocol hardly needs any configuration in order to work properly and stably, another protocol can be very critical when it comes to the configuration of switches. To make configuration easy, in the AV user interface you can select a port of the switch with a few clicks and load a ready-made network profile of NETGEAR onto it.
Fan Control & mounting
These switches are ideally suited for use in a noise-sensitive environment. With the help of software, it is even possible to switch off the fans (under certain conditions). The M4250 models are designed for installation in a 19" server rack. It is also possible to mount the unit upside down with the ports on the front. The necessary brackets are included in the delivery.
Power over Ethernet
Traditional POE switches are made to power light devices like an access point via POE. But in the case of an amplifier, it is necessary to have sufficient POE budget to serve the different zones. In its AV line, Netgear focuses on switches with a sufficient POE budget without having to include countless ports at an insanely price point.
Directly ready to use
The IGMP Plus feature is pre-set at the factory so each switch has standard AV-over-IP settings. This makes it ready to use right out of the box when used standalone. In addition to this, the IGMP Plus feature has an automatic configuration of ideal routing when using multiple switches. This is useful for AV integrators who are reluctant to configure.
